Turneffe Flats, Belize
Recognized as one of the world’s premier flats fishing destinations, Turneffe offers miles of firm-bottom wadeable flats. This is the place to visit if your primary objective is catching a Permit. You can expect numerous chances at 10 to 20 pound permit as well as some fish in the 30 to 40 pound range. Bonefish are numerous and will give the novice the opportunity to learn the basics of flats fishing. Tarpon are seasonal in this area and most range from 60 to 90 lbs.
